It’s Unprecedented': Mysterious Respiratory Illness Sickens At Least
1,000 Children Across U.S.
A mysterious respiratory virus, thought to be a rare and
much more serious variant of the common cold, is affecting hundreds of children
in at least 10 states across the country, causing symptoms of such severity
that an average of 15 percent of those treated for the illness have ended up in
intensive care.
